Se nel mondo della pop music è esistita una stella assoluta cui gli anni 80 sono stati riconoscenti quanto a lustro, prepotenza visiva ed efficacia di penetrazione nell’immaginario collettivo, quell’astro talentuoso e senza paragoni è stato certamente il cantautore, ballerino, compositore, musicista, arrangiatore e produttore discografico statunitense Michael Jackson. Settimogenito di una famiglia di musicisti, la sua lunga e fortunata carriera, intrapresa a soli cinque anni nel celebre quintetto Jackson Five e giunta alla svolta solista nel 1971 con il singolo Got to be there , lo ha visto consacrato, fin dai primissimi anni 80, come l'artista pop di maggior successo di sempre, in particolare grazie a “Thriller” (1982), tuttora l'album più acquistato nella storia della musica di ogni tempo.
